Rooke Street Mall Interactive Pavement Mural

In April 2023, the Rooke Street Mall in Devonport unveiled a vibrant interactive pavement mural designed to enrich the public space and encourage playful engagement. Commissioned by the Devonport City Council, this artwork transforms the mall's pavement into an imaginative play area for children and a captivating visual experience for all visitors.​

Artist and Concept

The mural was created by Hobart-based artist Leigh Rigozzi, known for his dynamic and engaging public artworks. The design features a series of interconnected shapes and patterns that form a 'board game' motif, inviting children and families to interact with the artwork through imaginative play. This initiative aligns with the Council's vision to create inviting and functional public spaces that foster community interaction and cultural expression.
